Albert Hackworth was born on 21 July 1853. He was the son of John Wesley Hackworth and Ann Hackworth (nee Turner). He married Esther Ann Williams on 1 March 1885 and they had one son (also called Albert) and three daughters. He appears to have worked alongside his father as some of John Wesley Hackworth’s patents feature his name, he was also a marine engineer in his own right. He died in 1904.

Comments on his forthcoming marriage; advice 'apartments are all well enough for single men but married men and women must I think always find themselves confined in lodgings. A man wants a palace of his own and a woman a home that se can convert into a palace in her husband’s eyes'; religious references; sends presents, a pair of pillow cases, night shirts, Coleridge’s practical works from 'aunt Jenny' [Jane Young (nee Hackworth)].
