Albert Hackworth was born on 21 July 1853. He was the son of John Wesley Hackworth and Ann Hackworth (nee Turner).
He married Esther Ann Williams on 1 March 1885 and they had one son (also called Albert) and three daughters.
He appears to have worked alongside his father as some of John Wesley Hackworth’s patents feature his name, he was also a marine engineer in his own right. He died in 1904.

Samuel Holmes was born on 9 November 1845 at 36 Park Square, Leeds. He was the son of Elizabeth Holmes (nee Hackworth) and Benjamin Holmes. His father died when he was two and the family moved back to Elizabeth’s family at Soho House in Shildon. He spent time as a young child at Soho works with Timothy Hackworth. He emigrated to America in the 1880’s and built up a career as an engineer, he corresponds from his ‘Samuel Holmes Steamship Offices’, Broad Street, New York, where he had a business that appeared to charter and build steamships. He married Gertrude Holmes and died in America in 1920.
Holmes was a keen campaigner for the historical recognition of Timothy Hackworth and a supporter of John Wesley Hackworth. He was in regular correspondence with Robert Young when he was researching for Timothy Hackworth and the Locomotive. Correspondence shows that towards his death he disagreed with the way that the book was being written; he tended to be more radical in his claims and wanted the book to be more sensational in order to appeal the public. He compiled a ‘foreward’ to be included in the book, which was never included in the book. He died in 1920.

Young, Timothy Hackworth (b 1855 – d?) was born 20/01/1855 and was the son of Young, Jane (b 1831 – d 1914) (nee Hackworth) and Young, George Edward (b 1823 -1889) Wesleyan Preacher. He emigrated to the United States where he married Elenore Fairchild, they had no children. He worked with his cousin Holmes, Samuel (b 1845 - d 1920) who was also living in America with arrangements for the Baltimore and Ohio Railway’s exhibition at World Columbian Exposition.

John Hennon Hackworth was born in 1843, the son of Thomas Hackworth (1797-1877) and Adele Celestine Hackworth (nee Hennon). Thomas was Timothy Hackworth’s (1786-1850) brother and John Hennon Hackworth was Timothy Hackworth’s nephew.
In 1871 he married Sophia Margaret Hackworth (nee Dorey), who is thought to be born in 1837 and died in 1899. They had a daughter and a son. After Sophia's death, he married Sarah Louise Hackworth (nee Benn), who was born in 1855 and died in 1921.
John Hennon Heckworth worked at Fossick and Hackworth, a business established by his father after he left Soho works. Later he became a ‘sea going engineer’ for six years and then lived in London. He died in 1923.

George Edward Young was the son of George Edward Young, a Wesleyan Methodist preacher and Jane Young (nee Hackworth). He was born on 21 June 1867 and like his father became a Wesleyan Methodist Minister.
He married Henrietta Lillian Young (nee Chapman) on 11/08/1897. They had three sons and one daughter. Henrietta died on 14 April 1916 and George died two months later on 13 June 1916.

Samuel Holmes Young was the son of George Edward Young, a Wesleyan Methodist preacher and Jane Young (nee Hackworth). He was born on 5 January 1869.
He became an engineer and went on to be the proprietor of Young and Co., Leeds who supplied woollens, horse clothings, trimmings and coach and motor hardware on Crown Point Road, Leeds. The company were contractors to the War Office.
He married Jessica Marshall on 19 September 1900 and they had one son. Jessica died on 7 December 1925 and Samuel died on 27 March 1936.

Esther Hackworth was born on 25 January 1888, she was the daughter of Albert Hackworth and Esther Ann Hackworth, (nee Williams), granddaughter of John Wesley Hackworth and therefore the great granddaughter of Timothy Hackworth. In 1928 she married Norman Alderslade, who was born in 1889 and died in 1968. They had no children. She died in 1973.

Prudence Winifred Parsons (nee Hackworth) was born on 2 December 1892 and was also known as 'Winnie'. She was the daughter of Albert Hackworth and Esther Ann Hackworth, (nee Williams); who was the granddaughter of John Wesley Hackworth and therefore the great granddaughter of Timothy Hackworth.
In 1919 he married Henry Parsons, who was born in 1891 and died in 1968, and they had one son and two daughters. She died in 1956.
- Hackworth Young, ReginaldBiographyBiography
Reginald (known as Rex) Hackworth Young was born on 1 August 1905, he was the son of George Edward Young and Henrietta Young. He married Katherine Maitland Davidson.
He went into engineering and had a distinguished career working principally on fans and ventilation. He was a member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers, the Institute of Mechanical Engineers and the Institute of Heating and Ventilating Engineers. He wrote a foreward to the 1975 edition of his uncle, Robert Young's book Timothy Hackworth and the Locomotive and was present at the opening of the Timothy Hackworth Museum in Shildon. He died on 19 October 1977.
