    This series contains materials relating to a patent law suit which took places between 1913 and 1915 and which was raised by William Friese-Greene, producer of a rival colour system to Kinemacolour called Biocolour. Friese-Green challenged the validity of the Kinemacolor patent. The initial petition in this case was dismissed, but reversed on appeal in March 1914, a decision upheld when taken to the House of Lords in March 1915. The documents in this series include petitions, patents, correspondence and appeal documents.

    One archive box measuring approximately 380mm x 290mm x 110mm containing loose papers and bound volumes
  • Physical description
    Bound volumes containing both typed and handwritten text, all in fair to good condition with no handling concerns. Accompanying loose paper-based records contain a mixture of newsprint, handwritten text and typed pages. All of the pages are slightly yellowed and several individual sheets are brittle, but there is no immediate concern to prevent handling.
