- Scope and ContentThis archive contains letters, programmes, press cuttings, advertisements, photographs, articles and promotional material relating to the career of Charles Urban. There is a significant amount of material relating to Kinemacolor and Kinekrom films and technology. The material in this collection covers the period between 1895 and 1930 including the development and collapse of the Charles Urban Trading Company. There are also a substantial amount of materials relating to Edward Raymond Turner and F. Percy Smith, both of whom worked under the employment of Charles Urban.

- Archival historyCharles Urban's papers were originally donated to the Science Museum in 1937 as a gift by Urban himself. The archive was transferred to the National Media Museum by the Science Museum in 2005.
