Schumm, James Barry Biography Biography
James Barry Schumm worked at the Ferranti Computer Systems division in Wythenshawe, Manchester from the early 1950s until his retirement in 1989. His roles at the company included electrical engineer and project engineer supervisor on the Torness Power Station project.

Scope and Content
Research file relating to the creation of a LAN using Argus computers. Includes internal memos and minutes of the Power Stations Systems Business Development Group, an ISO-OSI reference model for use in creating the network, bulletins on the Ferranti SB10 Systembus, and photocopied publications on LANs and Ethernet connections. Original cover of file retained with annotations.
