Ministry of Aviation Biography Biography
The UK government's Ministy of Aviation was established on 21 October 1959 when the civil aviation functions of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation were transferred to the Ministry of Supply. Throughout 1966 the government transferred the civil aviation functions of this ministry to the Board of Trade. The Ministry of Aviation was abolished on 15 February 1967, with its remaining functions transferred to the Ministry of Technology.
