- Hawker Siddeley Brush Turbines LimitedBiographyBiography
Hawker Siddeley Brush Turbines (HSBT) was established as part of the acquisition of the Brush Group by Hawker Siddeley in 1957. The new company was responsible for the construction of steam and gas turbines at the former Gloster Aircraft site in Hucclecote, Gloucester. In 1959 it was transferred to the Hawker Siddeley Industries group as part of a wider restructuring. In 1963 the turbocharger operation was taken over by D. Napier and Son as part of a winding down of the company which finally resulted in the closure of the Hucclecote site. The remaining operations were transferred to Richardsons Westgarth and Co in Hartlepool.
