Never-Stop Transit Ltd was formed in 1921 in collaboration with Arthur Octavius Edwards following negotiations between Yorath Lewis and the committee responsible for organising the British Empire Exhibition. The company was created to develop a working model of the Adkins-Lewis System, which was remarketed as the “Never-Stop” Railway. The model was built at Kursaal Gardens in Southend-on-Sea and enabled the Exhibition Committee to see the system in action and make its decision. This model was completed in 1924. In 1922, Lewis entered a competition in Paris to design an alternative method of transport to those that were currently in use within the city. In November 1923 Never-Stop Transit Ltd entered into an agreement with the British Empire Exhibition, to provide the exhibition with a Never-Stop Railway. This agreement resulted in the subsidiary company, Never-Stop Railway (Wembley) Ltd, which dealt with the administration. Never-Stop Transit Ltd was disbanded in 1926 following the end of the British Empire Exhibition following a lack of public interest.
