(active 1974) Biotechnology Researcher Murphy has research expertise in plant biotechnology, genomics, molecular & cell biology, and bioinformatics and has written on or edited over 300 publications in international journals. Primarily a University academic and teacher, Murphy has gained sixteen years teaching experience at the University of Durham, University of East Anglia and University of Glamorgan. Alongside his teaching experience Murphy has ten years of senior management and administrative experience and holds memberships of UK and overseas grant assessment committees, scrutiny panels for various institutes and strategy forming bodies. Acting in the role of Senior Advisor & Consultant on biotechnology to government bodies and private companies his contributions to the GM debate are of great importance.
