- Scope and ContentThis collection contains 192 photographs taken at Foulsham and Banfield's photographic studio in the early 20th century. The photographs are of contemporary theatrical personalities and performers, and are a rich source for researchers of contemporary costume and theatre of the early 20th century. Personalities photographed include Gladys Cooper, Dorothy Ward, Ivor Novello, Edna Best, The Dolly Sisters and Heather Thatcher.

- Archival historyThe collection was acquired by the National Science and Media Museum in 1984. It was collected by John James Plummer, who worked in processing and printing at Foulsham and Banfield from 1911 onwards.
