The first part of the book has excerpts of Roman history, poetry including ‘Ode to Napoleon’ by Manzoni and the population of the earth according to the different religious sects. The second part has excerpts from and notes on books on engineering, and notes on specific aspects of engineering on the River Tees and a few illustrations.
