  • Archival history
    The donor's father, Harold Geoffrey Monk, worked in the design office at A V Roe & Co Ltd under Roy Chadwick. Mr Monk designed the dorsal fin on the Avro Manchester and acquired the tender specification as a result of working on the design. He retained the tender until his death in 1985. The tender specification then passed to his daughter, the donor, on Mr Monk's death.
