  • Scope and Content
    This collection is the archive of Walter Nurnberg, industrial photographer and photography educator. The collection covers both his photographic outputs, career as a teacher, publication history and also a small amount of personal papers. The bulk of the collection is photographic negatives (glass and celluloid) and photographic prints. The negatives alone make up over 11,000 items of the collection, and there are approximately 2,000 photographic prints. The collection also includes materials relating to Nurnberg's publishing career, including original typed manuscripts, copies of books edited or written by Nurnberg, exhibition catalogues and anthologies containing examples of his photography. There are also a small amount of publications collected by Nurnberg and some company reports illustrated by Nurnberg's photography. The smallest part of the collection is Nurnberg's personal papers and correspondence. This includes correspondence relating to clients, exhibitions, copyright clearance and teaching. There are also a small amount of diaries and personal correspondence.
