- Scope and ContentHarvey is repaying debts on behalf of Trevithick of £300 which along with an existing debt to Harvey of £200, totals £500. Harvey is getting a deed drawn up to secure Penpons which he hopes Trevithick will sign. Harvey has detected from correspondence that the Tevithick family may prefer to stay in London and is concerned about the financial aspects; Harvey requests to not be asked again for advice having given his advice previously. Harvey informs Jane of a job as an inspector of all the engines in the County paying £150 per year which had been turned down by Capt Andrew Vivian. In a postcript, Harvey states that he had delayed posting hoping to hear of the government determining in Trevitihick's favour but as Jane's most recent letter had made no mention of the matter, Harvey again urged Trevithick to return to Cornwall.
