British motor company founded in London in 1896 as The Daimler Motor Company Limited, buying the rights to use the Daimler name. The company was purchased by Birmingham Small Arms Company (BSA) in 1904. BSA bought the Lanchester Motor Company and made it a subsidiary of Daimler in 1933. Daimler was sold to Jaguar Cars in 1960.
