Moses was a Professor of Microbiology at London's Queen Mary College for 22 years, where he started his involvement with the field of biotechnology. He jointly edited a major textbook on Biotechnology and co-authored around 190 original research papers, reviews, articles and books. In the beginning of his career, Vivian remained at UCL as a junior lecturer until he was assigned to a post-doctoral appointment joining a research group on photosynthesis with Melvin Calvin at the University of California in Berkeley. From 1999 he chaired CropGen with a vision to boost public understanding of biotechnology.
Scope and Content
This collection comprises a collection of 31 CD's and DVD's depicting the GM food debate on television and radio programmes, conferences, seminars and public and private meetings; 11 video cassette recordings of programmes on BBC, SKY and Channel 4; 1 linen shopping bag of marketing memorabilia; papers, reprints and 48 pamphlets and booklets; 83 conference and other reports; 17 journals and 59 books.
This material provides insight into the debate and public dissemination about research and development of genetically modified crops.
Professor Moses has had a long academic career in research relating to genetically modified crops.
