- Physical descriptionThe condition of the collection is good. There is some discoloration of paper used on the excavation site.
- Archival historyThe archive contains the paper records relating to an archaeological excavation at the former site of the Ashbury Railway Carriage and Iron Works in Openshaw, Manchester. The excavation was undertaken by SLR Consulting on behalf of Network Rail in fulfilment of a condition on planning consent to redevelop the site for use as a Regional Operating Centre. The archive does not include finds. The archive was transferred by Laurence Hayes, one of the archaeologists who worked on the excavation, on behalf of SLR Consulting Limited.
