Palatine Printing Co Biography Biography
The Palatine Printing Co was a business known to have operated out of 48 Millgate St, Wigan, Lancashire between 1904 and 1915. They produced commemorative serviettes, millinery boxes and millinery bags, amongst other printed materials. The company promoted itself as the "Cheapest Printers on earth or elsewhere."

Scope and Content
The napkin lists the names of the men and boys who lost their lives in the explosion at Pretoria Pit, Atherton.

The donor received the napkin from his father's cousin. The cousin's brother, J. Dootson, is named on the napkin as one of the victims of the disaster. The cousin had also been scheduled to work that day, but missed the bus to the pit.
