- Scope and ContentCollection of textile designs produced by Randall Paine during his work as a partner in Brewer & Paine Textile Designers of Deansgate, Manchester. The design drawings date from the late 1920s to 1939. The drawings are gouache on paper and typical of popular textile designs of the period. They were created to a mathematical formula which produced a pattern repeat to fit the printing rollers.

- Archival historyThe donor saved the drawings on the advice of a friend following her father's death. The prints were left at Queen Street Mill in Burnley by the daughter of Randall Paine. The prints do not fit with the collecting policy at Queen Street Mill and were therefore offered to the Science and Industry Museum (then MOSI).
