C. Nicholls & Company Ltd. was a printing firm based at the Phillips Park Press in Manchester. In its initial years, the firm was based in Manchester city centre and carried out jobs for local Manchester businesses. In particular it held contracts with many textile firms, for which it printed shippers' tickets. It produced the Ferranti Journal and also printed items for smaller customers, including service programmes for Manchester Cathedral. In the late 1970s the company underwent a period of expansion and was busy enough to be running day and night shifts.
