David Arthur Yates was a cotton weaver, known to have been active around 1930-1939, when he undertook his training.

Scope and Content
Two notebooks dating from c 1930 describing the tasks performed by workers in a cotton mill, and technical information concerning weaving practices. One notebook includes samples of woven fabrics. The notes were taken by Mr Yates whilst attending Night School to learn about weaving cotton.
