One broadsheet, entitled 'Bethell's Broadsheet No 1, History of the Origin, Rise and Progress of the Liverpool & Manchester Railway, with a detail of the difficulties and expenses attendant on the completion of that stupendous National undertaking and a descriptive sketch of the scenery on the line of the Road.'

The broadsheet is in a fair condition. There is large split along the central horizontal fold, slightly affecting the text, with other small tears along the folds.
