    Volumes I-IV of The Westinghouse Bulletin, company magazine of British Westinghouse (later Metropolitan Vickers), covering the period up to 1915. The Westinghouse Bulletins were created as 'a clearing house for internal information' and contain such topics as: notes on important orders received; talking points on Westinghouse apparatus; comparisons with competitors apparatus; descriptions of new lines of apparatus etc. The Bulletins are arranged with a subject index at the front. They bear the stamp of the Research Library and volumes I & II are inscribed with the name F. Walker, and volumes III & IV with A.P. Fleming. The collection also contains a copy of '1899-1949' by John Dummelow, published to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Metropolitan Vickers Electrical Company.

  • Archival history
    The Westinghouse Bulletins were rescued by the donor, Mr Worthington, from a skip following the closure of the Company. The commemorative book belonged to the donor's father who worked in the forge at Metropolitan Vickers before becoming a watchman. Mr Worthington was apprenticed to the Pattern Shop as a Pattern Maker.
