    Collection of documents relating to the Ferranti Argus 100, 300, 400 and 700 series of computers. The documents include description manuals for the early models along with circuit and logic diagrams for various parts of the computer and handwritten notes made during development work. The collection also contains a small number of printed publications including 'The Characteristics of Computers in the Second Decade' and STEPMA - A Simulator for tele-processing and multi-access systems'.

    Mr Redshaw worked at the company's Wythenshawe Computer Division as a hardware designer on the Argus computer series until 1992. One of his first installation projects was at Jodrell Bank Radio Telescope working on a Argus 100. The documents in this collection were either used by him, or have come to him subsequently from other Ferranti employees.
