- TitleNotebooks and Samples Relating to the Chemical Dyeing Industry
- ReferenceYA1996.2834
- Production date1940 - 1970
- Scope and ContentA series of note books and sample books. The note books seem to relate to attendance at college or night school as they contain detailed handwritten descriptions and illustrations of the various processes of dyeing cloth. There are also several ledgers containing samples of dyed textiles, which may have been part of the course work, with proportions of chemical dye used to attain colours. Other ledgers contained printed samples of patterns, which may have been collated once the owner of the ledgers had started work, again with proportions of chemical dyes used during the process. There are a number of company names mentioned, along with two samples for a Friedlinde di Colbertaldo design order for Heals of London.
