The club is the oldest established flying club in the United Kingdom. For many years it was located at Barton Aerodrome before moving to an airstrip located at Kenyon Hall Farm, Wigan in 2007.

Scope and Content
This series of records contains copies of the Elevator magazine, the club journal, and also copies of The Aeroplane and Flight magazine. There are a number of typed manuscript articles written by Alan Goodfellow and early photographs of members of the club.
