  • Archival history
    The photographs were taken at the Art Treasures Exhibition held at Old Trafford in 1857. The Exhibition was opened by Prince Albert on 5 May and run until 17 October. It was the largest exhibition of fine art ever held in the U.K. and attracted over 1.3 million visitors.
