  • System of arrangement
Since its acquisition, this material has received at least two sets of reference numbers. The numbering system used relates to the physical order the material took on the shelves in the Museum Archive strong room. This arrangement has been largely maintained, although an attempt has now been made to assign records to their original creating departments. There are 8 series, according to the relevant creating departments. Within these series this material has been arranged into sub-series, which consist of numbers of items related by format and/or function. Within series, items are generally arranged chronologically.
