    ROB/1 ROB/2 & ROB/3 are hard backed volumes, which are in a fair condition. Some volumes have been conserved and these are in a good condition. ROB/3 are drawings, which are in a fair condition.ROB/5 & ROB/6 are a series of files, which are also in a fair condition.

  • Archival history
    The majority of the archive collection was acquired from English Electric-AEI Traction Ltd in October 1968 by the Science Museum, South Kensington, London. The archive was transferred to the National Railway Museum, York, in 1996. Most drawings in series ROB/3 were preserved by the firm as the core of their historic collection, transferred to the Science Museum in 1924 and transferred to the national Railway Museum in 2005. These drawings were treated as separate from the firm's historic business records until they reached the NRM. ROB/3/104 Passenger Engine. Drawing No 5. was donated to the National Railway Museum by an individual private donor, 1987. ROB/3/144 drawings of details for 2-2-0 and 2-4-0 locomotives built for Egyptian Railways Purchased by the National Railway Museum from Lacy Scott (Auctioneers), 1991. ROB/3/87 coloured drawing, window mounted. Elevations of the (Locomotive) Rocket constructed by Robert Stephenson & CoPurchased by the National Railway Museum from Lacy Scott (Auctioneers), 1991. ROB/1/1 was purchased by the Science Museum from a private donor in 1947 and transferred to the National Railway Museum in 2005
