Schumm, James BarryBiography Biography
James Barry Schumm worked at the Ferranti Computer Systems division in Wythenshawe, Manchester from the early 1950s until his retirement in 1989. His roles at the company included electrical engineer and project engineer supervisor on the Torness Power Station project.

Scope and Content
Documents relating to Torness On-line Instrumented Stringer. Includes sales project statement, faxed correspondence from SSEB Generation Design & Construction Division to Ferranti Computer Systems, handwritten notes and pencil-drawn computer architecture document showing the component parts and functions for the online instrumented stringer.
Physical description
Generally good condition but significant creasing and curling to some pages in the group. All grouped sets of notes were stapled and some loose items were contained with the groups sets. Staples have been removed and replaced with brass paperclips, loose items secured. Some slight marks present where previous staples have rusted.
