Rex Lowden was a commercial industrial photographer based at Whalley Bridge. He specialised in images of the workplace and production processes. He worked to commission with a number of companies in Manchester, including Ferranti Ltd and David Moseley & Sons Ltd. He is known to have been active in the period 1945-1970.

Local newspaper founded in 1864, circulating to Manchester, Salford, Lancashire and Cheshire. Became known as the City and Suburban news from 1955 to 1958. Later published as Lancashire County Express, County Express, and Manchester County Express until 1963.
