In 1919, the company acquired the Britannia Engineering Works, Kilmarnock of Dick, Kerr & Co Ltd. While some locomotive activity continued, it is not clear for how long and there is no evidence of any continuing relationship with the English Electric Co Ltd. The site name remains as a car showroom/ retail area, adjacent to the Andrew Barclay works, now Wabtec.
