Trained at Salford Technical College where he learned about the process of weaving cotton and other textiles. On completing his course he went to work for the Co-Operative Society as a textile buyer and distributor between the 1940s and 1980s.

Scope and Content
The collection consists of note books on weaving, a printed publication entitled "Methods for Testing Textiles" and work presented to City and Guilds Institute in his fifth year. There are also a small number of examples of fabric weaved on a Jacquard Loom using his own designs.
