QUIT Biography Biography
Established in 1926 as the National Society of Non Smokers, the group became known as QUIT following attainment of charitable status in 1983. Throughout its existence, the group engaged in a range of campaigns against smoking, and provided guidance and support for people wishing to stop smoking. The group dissolved in 2018.

Scope and Content
A booklet of information for staff working on the QUIT helpline, QUITLINE. This contains information on the charity's mission statement and what it expects from staff as well as instructions on how to answer phone calls and what to say to members of the public.
