In 1882 John Taylor's partnership with Mr. Simpson ended and Taylor continued to act as Consulting Engineer for various Water Companies. In the same year John Taylor took his 2 sons, Edward Brough Taylor and (presumably Gotfred Midgley Taylor), into partnership. In 1891, on his father’s death, Edward Brough Taylor became senior partner, a position which he held for 50 years. William Santo Crimp joined the firm as a partner in 1894 which became John Taylor Sons and Santo Crimp. By 1914 the company was again known as John Taylor and Sons
