    Some duplicate items have been removed but otherwise all the papers and recordings transferred to the National Railway Museum have been preserved
  • System of arrangement
    Apart from the tapes which have reference numbers, there is no discernible original order. Notes on some of the bundles indicated the contents; however, upon inspection, correspondence relating to unrelated matters appeared. The material has been kept in the bundles as received and labelled in accordance with Peter Handford's notes. No attempt has been made to re-arrange the photographs. Items have been arranged in series relating to their subject matter.
