This volume includes reports for November 2, 1838 "John Wilkinson Guard between St Helens & Shildon is going to Leave his Situation" "As considerable delay is occationed by the Locomotive Engines taking in there Coal at the Branch End, having them all to lift into the Tenders by Hand from the Ground, J G would therefore Recomend as a Temperary releaf A Crain or Winch to be placed to Lift a Box containing a Ton the Height of the Tender, More Standage for Lading waggons at the Black Boy Branch end is much wnated" (p.13-14), Novermber 23, 1838 "Jno Graham Reports That a New Engine has been delivered by Timothy Hackworth Called Tory - J Pease Jr" (p.16).
