  • System of arrangement
Due to the fragmentation of the Peckett Archive before it came to the National Railway Museum, the original order of the records has been difficult to ascertain (except in the case of engineering drawings). The engineering drawings have been catalogued and arranged using the original numbering system as recorded on the drawings. The archive has therefore been arranged into eight series, these are PECK/1 Production records, PECK/2 Financial records, PECK/3 Drawing registers, PECK/4 Drawing record books, PECK/5 Sketchbook, PECK/6 Drawings, PECK/7 Photographic material and PECK/8 Publicity material. PECK/1/2 and PECK/6/3 were originally in a box entitled 'Wakefield Mechanical Lubricator', its contents have been split up based on the type of material.
