- Scope and ContentThis twinlock binder contains textile trading information relating to around 45 companies, including Paterson Zochonis, A. Brunnschweiler & Co., G. B. Ollivant Ltd, trading in cotton textiles in British West Africa, French West Africa, French Equatorial Africa, French Cameroons, Belgium Congo, Rhodesia and USA. The entries are segregated by geographical regions into first to fourth quarterly periods. Companies are listed with the percentage of their total cloth allocations within each region. Entries relate to square-yard amounts of ‘grey’ and finished cloth bought by each company, including the percentage allocation this represented per country. The entries for each company provide details of cloth allocation size, percentage allocation by country, references relating to how cloth should be used, deductions of orders received, and authorisation dates (some go into 1946). There are additional handwritten entries recording import/export licence numbers, notes on allocations, changes to allocations, etc.
