Berry & Bentley Biography Biography
In 1933 Johnny Berry and Bill Bentley opened a cycle shop in Rusholme Manchester. Bentley managed the shop while Berry focused on frame building. At least 471 Berry & Bentley frames were built by Johnny Berry from 1933 until the mid 1940s. The bulk of Berry & Bentley frames were made before the onset of the Second World War in 1939. In 1946, Johnny Berry and his wife Ida Berry opened their own cycle shop in Rusholme.

Scope and Content
Berry & Bentley was one of a number of cycle manufacturers producing bicycles in the Manchester area. The receipt provides details of frame number and cost of a new Berry & Bentley bicycle in 1942. It also provides a timeline as to how long the partnership between Berry & Bentley lasted.
