Scope and ContentPlan titled ‘Fardier au vapeur par Cugnot’, made by Monsieur Trescar, Engineer at the Conservatoire des Arts et Metiers. With labelling in French. Nicholas Joseph Cugnot built the first steam propelled vehicle to transport men in 1769, the steam dray, which has been preserved at the Conservatoire des Arts et Metiers since 1800.
