    Many dozens of items are stuck in on a total of 148 folio pages, and many more tipped in. The album commences with 'Dr. Russell's Diary', 37 facsimile pages (on 26 folios) 'written for the Directors of the Telegraph Construction & Maintenance Company' by William H. Russell on board the Great Eastern in August 1865, followed by copies of messages relayed via the cable and congratulations sent re the achievement; many individual commemorative items of the event; much correspondence, especially of Capt. Anderson of the Great Eastern and press cuttings.
